Softness. The first overwhelming sensation that comes to mind when you push the door of L’Alimentation Générale for the first time. The chosen baptismal name is an acronym, LAG: the softness of subdued light, the softness of the white walls, the softness of the atmosphere itself, inviting peacefulness in. A softness reinforced by the discrete musical stream, handpicked by the owner Boris Wandoren: soul, folk or pop, all converging to an undeniable elegance. The wooden tables, the chairs from the flea market, some plants here and there, the photography or painting exhibitions of local artists, the available magazines, the welcoming smiles: in this spread length-wise “coffee shop”, provided with a terrasse for sunny days, and a few hundred meters from Place de Jaude, you feel cozy very easily. So, obviously, you tend to come back often, with friends, family, to discuss, laugh or work – your computer under your arm.

Opened during spring in 2017 by Boris and his associate Lyria Boukeffa, the LAG celebrates every day a perfect wedding between modernity and simplicity, that seduced a few ASM rugby players, and other personalities from Clermont - among many others. In the morning, you come to enjoy a hot chocolate or one of that coffee that is an invitation to travel from the very first sip, that the most gourmet among us are accompanying with a cake to die for – special mention to the cheese and carrot cakes. For lunch, you can eat on the go and be tempted by some exotic flavors, pulled pork hamburger or banh mi sandwich, astonishingly flavored salads, that you enjoy sipping a local beer or a fruit juice with a playful name. In addition, more or less formal Rendez-vous will seduce gourmets of all ages – the famous Saturday morning pancakes, Sunday brunch (upon reservation only) – and you will easily understand why the LAG is a place that shines!
